Busy End of The Summer Weekend

Well driving around Chicago this weekend you can see that people were everywhere and there was so much going on,  we passed through the Triathlon and saw a big volley ball tournament on the beach and the Cubs were in town and the Bucktown Arts Fest was going on and I am sure plenty of other things and we actually didn't do any of them.  We were very busy but most of what we did was up on the North Burbs.  Friday night we went to a Charity event at the Palmer House called the Lake Effect that was a benefit for Hospice and featured the Plain White T's.  The event was fun and the music was good and after we ended upstairs at the Hotel bar drinking more wine till late night. Saturday started a little late with Brunch at Cafe Con Leche and then a very nice ride up Sheridan and a cruise down the winding ravines and we went to Chicago Botanic Garden and enjoyed a walk around and a nice time since I have not been there since I was a kid.  The Chicago Botanic Gardens are really amazing and didn't realize how big it was.   After walking around fro a while we headed back into the city with a quick pit stop at Lake Street for some Sushi and then off to Webster theater to see the Time Travelers Wife,  the movie was pretty good and Rachel Mcadams is about as cute and they get.  Sunday was a fun day that started with Brunch at Orange and then we took the same drive up north and spent a few hours at the Highland Park Art Fair followed by Ravinia to see Carrie Underwood.  Ravinia is Great and I have not been in many years,  we had a great spread of food and good wine and we enjoyed the show and it was a perfect night besides the brisk weather. Well that is it for a busy weekend and I am going to be working hard this week and leaving Friday to Silver Lake for Labor Day weekend.  Till Next time
